The mills at Little River-Crannell will be closed down indefinitely next Thursday. 400 men at Crannell and Fairhaven and 100 men in the woods will be affected.* Lumber operators have been continuous for 30 years or more. When the first mill was built, the town was called Bullwinkle, which was the name of the man who owned a fine ranch near the mill site. For a number of years the town consisted of a few one-room cabins. After Harry W. Cole became the manager, the town grew.
