TEXT:
Excellent article on a proposal to construct a 40' foot wide road on a 60' foot roadway across the marshes next to the Railroad. The B.O.S. directed the County surveyor to conduct a survey and come up with a cost estimate. The matter was brought to the B.O.S. by Lamb and McNiel, two of the stockholders of the Freshwater Land and Improvement Company. This company land is already diked. This project has been talked about for 20 years. The new road would cut the distance in half. The B.O.S. also discussed extending the boulevard to the foot of Table Bluff Hill. The Elk River hill by the schoolhouse could be avoided by going around it on the marsh.
