Old Arcata Road Dutch Flat Hill Freshwater Corners

The B.O.S. went out to Freshwater Corners to view the rock crusher operated by James Brown, County Supervisor. The rock is hauled from the rock quarry near the tannery on the Freshwater Railroad to Freshwater Corners. The portion of Old Arcata Road from the City limits to the brow of the hill beyond Dutch Flat is nearly all macadamized by James Brown and he intends to improve the remainder of OAR to Dutch Flat Hill. East brothers ferry is on the Eel River at the spot know as "Browns Ford".
