TEXT:
Captain DeMerritt has finished surveying the mouth of Humboldt Bay. This data will be mapped and used to estimate the C.Y. that need to be dredged to make a 300' foot channel up to Carson's Mill. About the middle of the week, he will visit the old rock quarry at Bayside and the prospective quarry at Trinidad to check on the quality of the rock. The survey of the bar will show how much the jetty must be raised.
