TEXT:
The FPC has granted preliminary permits to Electric Metals Company and A P Seybold of San Francisco for the construction of three power dams on the Klamath. These permit applications have been on file for four years. Seybold proposes to build a 75 foot dam to develop 30,000 hp. Electric Metals Company proposes 2 dams, one 80 foot high and one 200 foot high to provide 117,000 hp. They plan to transmit power to Trinidad for the manufacture of aluminum. The permits are conditioned by requiring fish ways or other steps in order to maintain existing fish migrations as the Secretary of Commerce may direct. One of the dam sites is at Ishi Pishi Falls.
