The Tim Mckay Postcard Collection, especially those showing Northwestern California scenes, follow Tim McKay's lifelong interests in the natural world and in the ways that people and communities use their surroundings for livelihood and solace. McKay also saved/collected contemporary cards celebrating arts, events, and political causes for the Humboldt Bay region. These are incorporated into the History-Ephemera section of the main McKay Collection (2007.01). Additional portions of the collection remain unprocessed. These cover other geographic areas and novelty cards showing animals and flowers. The unprocessed portions are available for research by appointment.
