The mills at Little River - Crannell will be closed down indefinitely next Thursday. 400 men at Crannell & Fairhaven and 100 men in the woods will be affected. Lumber operations have been continuous for 30 years or more. When the 1st mill was built, the town was called Bullwinkle which was the name of the man who owned a fine ranch near the mill site. For a number of years the town consisted of a few one room cabins. After Harry W. Cole became mgr. the town grew.
