Science Fiction Collection
The Library at Cal Poly Humboldt is home to a collection of science fiction and fantasy magazines ranging from 1909 to 2007. The issues in this collection are one of the earliest offerings in the genre of Science Fiction. The earliest holding is The Argosy from 1909, and the latest is from Analog Science Fiction and Fact, which is still being published today.
Science Fiction Collection Access:
The Science Fiction Collection is housed on the thrid floor of the Caly Poly Humboldt Library near Special Collections.
- Access to Collection volumes is granted by visiting Special Collections during the reading room’s open hours. Asking Librarian for specific volumes, or to browse.
- All volumes in Collection are to be treated with care and respect.
- No food or drink are to be present in the vicinity of those handling Collection materials.
- Taking photos and copying pages shall be left to the discretion of the Special Collections Librarian.
- Due to condition and other factors, some items may have limited or restricted access.
- Volumes are to be returned to the Special Collections Librarian immediately after use.
- Researchers may be asked to submit for inspection backpacks, briefcases, notebook or other personal items prior to leaving the premises.
- At no time can Collection volumes be checked out from the library.
