Whole page by Genzoli on Grizzly Bluff & Waddington. At one time Grizzly Bluff served as a crossroads and had an Odd Fellows Hall, Bryant's grocery store, 2 churches, grist mill, post office, sawmill, school. All this existed until after WWI when the coming of the automobile changed everything. In 1949 it served as an access to the other side of the river via the summer bridge at Weymouth. Grizzly Bluff had its own little oil boom in about 1863 or 1865. One well was sunk on Barber Creek 300 yds SW of the Barber home. It went down 300' feet. Another well was drilled on the Church ranch. Waddington had one of the last county stores where everything was in stock, there are a lot of fine homes here. Photos include: the old Patrick House at Waddington, built in 1854.; the little school house at the corner of East Ferry road (?); photo of the road with Edeline Ranch on the left side of the photo. The Patrick House is 1/4 mile east of the Waddington Store. Its owned by Darathy Russ McBride. It was built by Nehiamiah Patrick. His wife was Jane Daly. He & Jane were the parents of Zipporah Russ.
