TEXT:
"Mrs. Nomland Compiling Indian Lore" Mrs. Gladys Nomland of Piedmont is again in Blue Lake, arriving a few days ago with her husband, Dr. J.G. Nomland. She was here last year gaining much information from an aged Indian in Blue Lake named Mollie Brock. Mollie was the sole survivor of her immediate family after a battle at the mouth of Bug Creek on what is now the Lentell place. Mollie was though be the only one left of the Non- Qqtl Indians; but later Gladys found two more- Annie Taggitt and her nephew Willis Maple. Gladys purchased some fine old specimens of basketry, the work of Annie who is now old and quite feeble. All of the specimens are for the Univ. of CA museum in Berkeley.
