Cabin owners met last night and tentatively set a price negotiation meeting with G. P. officials in their attempt to purchase the 35 acre tract. Their meeting is set for August 23 in the Courthouse at 8PM. Supervisor Lands said he would ask G.P. for a 5yr extension of the county lease to give the cabin owners time to work things out. The committee & about 80 persons attending agreed with Falor that negotiations for an area larger than the immediate area of the cabin tract could be undertaken later if a reasonable price was arrived at with G.P. & if the firms subdivision plans allowed expansion beyond that which has been applied for to the County. Lands said the county plans to buy 20 acres near the cabins for a recreational area & that G.P. will donate another 20 acres for that purpose. He said G.P.'s asking price for the 20 acres to be sold to the County = $1,200/acre. Falor said the cabin owners would seek to buy the 35 acres at a lower rate, around $30,000 for 35 acres.
