TEXT:
Surveyor Conners quit surveying a new route for the Overland Road upon learning that Mendocino County Board of Supervisors were opposed to the new route. The new route would have eliminated the Bell Springs grade. The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors said it would cost 2x as much to construction their end of the new route compared to that of Humboldt County. The new 29 mile long route included 20 miles in Mendocino County & 9 in Humboldt County.
