The Humboldt Northern Railroad Company has purchased the 140 acre Joseph Aggler Ranch on the Mad River near Mckinleyville. They also tried to buy the old John Gorman Ranch across the river. These lands lineup with the survey for where the Railroad would cross the river. It is supposed these lands were needed for a bridge site.
