The first one in Hum. is for 8100 C.Y. of crushed rock for an oil macadam road 8.5 mi from Orick to Russ Grove. The 2nd one is for 9000 c.y. of crushed rock for an oil macadam rd. for 6 mi from Russ Grove to the Hum. Co line. The 3rd is for 9000 c.y. of crushed rock for surfacing and macadamizing 4 mi between Elk and Smith Rivers. On Wednesday (3/27) bids for grading and surfacing w/ crushed rock for 0.9 mi of the RW Highway betw Mad River and Mill Creek will be opened in Sac. On 4/17 buds will be opened for the constr. of an office bldg. and shops for the Highway comm. in Dist. 1 in Eureka. On May 16 bids for the constr. of 101 from Arcata to Mad Riv will be opened in Sac. Last week the contract for constructing a steel truss br. over Mad River was awarded to Butte Constr. Co. of S.F.
