"News of 25 Yrs Ago" By W. Speegle, Dec 1921. The large farmhouse southeast of Shively on the Eel River burned to the ground. It was owned by Mr. and Mrs. John Bryan and was known as "Bryan's Rest" and was the rendezvous of many vacationists each summer.
