The Sterling hotel, once known as the Grand Hotel appeared doomed yesterday as the city council voted to make the wooden structure a target of condemnation proceedings. It is located at 2nd and C st. and is a fire hazard, unsanitary, and can't be placed in useable cond. economically. Oldtimers recalled it was one of the hostelries in 1900. It is 3 stories high with 80 rooms and was constr. around 1890.
