Photo & short piece on "Deadwood Dick" at 79. He came to the Black Hills in 1874 as government scout with general George Custer. Rode the pony express in 1876 from Pierre to Deadwood. He was part of the quartet of 1876 fame- Calamity James, Wild Bill Hickok, Preacher Smith, & Deadwood Dick.
