"Trinity River Bill killed by State Senate" Members of the Senate Water Resources Commission. Voted 6!1 to kill proposed legisl. which would have diverted the Trinity river to the Central Valley. In 1943 the Trinity River was included in the Central Valley Authority Project. Irwin T. Quinn, upon investigation, found that the Authority , under control of the B.O.R. had not fully exploited other waters included in the program. So a move was made to pull the Trinity river from the project, which was successful. A bill to put it back into the Authority was introduced by Smeler Regan. A dam at Fairbanks was proposed it this, with other dams construction along the river, would jeopardize recreational & industrial facilities . Fish spawning would be affected, as well as floating logs down the Klamath.
