W.H. Sampson of Corning proposed to divert water from the Trinity River Upper reaches - over a divide into Clear Creek in the Sacramento Valley to run through server power houses & irrigate 300,000 ac. in Shasta and Tehouna Counties. He failed to show up in Sacramento before the state waters rights diversion hearing on Sampson's 17 applications. Several people showed up to protest from Humboldt & Trinity Counties, including Humboldt Placer Mining Company.
