TEXT:
Whole page with photos on the lights at Punta Gorda. The writer of the article, Ed Neumeier, says there are three big buildings and a lot of little ones. The big ones are two stories in height. Mr. S.H. Mostovoy , BM/1 (L - CAN) and his wife occupy one of the buildings. Mostovoy said 3 ships ran aground here - the Humboldt in 1894; the St. Paul about 1905; the Indiana Harbor in 1927 near Spanish Flat. This station opened in 1910. The light was turned off on the 15th. Now we have the whistle and light buoy se we will move out as soon as spring comes. This station is the largest in the Coast Guard district and is too much to take care of. Lots of poison oak grows out there.
