Genzoli Photograph Collection Digitized!

Cal Poly Humboldt’s Special Collections and Archive is excited to announce the release of a new publicly available digital collection. The Genzoli Photograph Collection covers a variety of themes, imagery, and locations within Humboldt County.

Andrew Genzoli (1914-1984) was a prolific journalist, photographer, and teacher in the area. Some of his more well documented subjects include the town of Ferndale, Bigfoot, and the dairy industry. To learn more about his collection and work, visit the Genzoli Collection finding aid

The collection was donated in 1999, so it is very rewarding to finally be able to offer this collection digitally for anyone to freely access, whether it be for academic research or historic curiosity.

Please note that this collection will be uploaded in increments. As of today, 200 photos have been uploaded, but more will be added as they become digitized and cataloged. To view the collection, visit the Cal Poly Humboldt Digital Archive.

If you have not already, please also check out the “Creameries in Humboldt County” display located on the first floor of the library to the right of the circulation desk. This display utilizes photographs and documents from the Genzoli Photograph and Pamphlet Collections. This exhibit and digitization work was completed by Special Collections Student Assistant, Samantha Pate.
